Job Summary
Kiewit Building Group is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Omaha to manage the technical, administrative, and financial coordination of building construction projects. The role supports project leadership, manages engineering staff, and may serve as Project Manager on smaller assignments.
Project Details
The Building Group delivers office, industrial, education, sports, hospitality, healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, retail, special-use, and tenant improvement projects through general construction, construction management, design-build, and related delivery methods. The position is based in Omaha and surrounding markets, with relocation driven by project needs and career development.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate project schedules and support operations planning.
- Manage revenue, costs, and cash flow information.
- Oversee temporary engineering, permanent design coordination, and quality control.
- Administer contracts and subcontracts while maintaining client relationships.
- Lead project closeout activities and develop field and cost engineering staff.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- At least five years of construction or engineering experience, preferably in vertical construction.
- At least two years managing engineers and project subcontractors.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
- Strong communication, organization, time management, initiative, ethics, safety awareness, and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime or weekends when project requirements demand it.
