Project Engineer - Concrete Self Perform

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Project Engineer 2 in Nashville to support concrete self-perform operations and broader project execution. The role offers a development path toward Senior Project Engineer or Superintendent and involves close coordination with field and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Support safety, quality, estimating, change management, scheduling, procurement, and project administration activities.
• Monitor self-perform crews, labor hours, materials, equipment, production, and daily task planning.
• Prepare project reports, logs, meeting documentation, progress updates, and closeout materials.
• Assist with inspections, punch lists, QA/QC reviews, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite observations.
• Help develop crew schedules, manage costs, evaluate productivity, and identify self-perform opportunities.
• Use CMiC, Microsoft Office, construction technology, and Lean practices to support project delivery.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least two years of construction experience, including knowledge of self-perform work and labor productivity.
• Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with trades and project teams, and apply construction management fundamentals.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours when project conditions require.
