Project Engineer II

Job Summary

Granite Construction is hiring a Project Engineer II in La Mirada, California, to provide engineering and cost support and help ensure construction work meets project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support project controls, including contract compliance, budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost tracking.
• Review drawings and specifications, help resolve field conflicts, and coordinate with project teams to support quality and schedule.
• Prepare project records, quantity take-offs, material and labor estimates, sketches, and change-order documentation.
• Assist with material planning, field layout, historical cost analysis, and communication with clients and project leaders.
• May guide or mentor project staff and support company safety initiatives.

Required Experience

• At least two years of construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent training and experience may be considered.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and AGTEK Take-off software.
• Knowledge of construction methods, equipment, drawings, specifications, and applicable standards; ability to perform trigonometric calculations.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range is $88,170-$132,255. Benefits include paid holidays and sick leave, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending options, wellness programs, and a 401(k) with a 100% match on the first 6% of eligible compensation deferred by salaried employees, with immediate vesting. Eligible employees and dependents may have access to a PPO plan with premiums paid by Granite.
