Project Engineer Manager - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Rancho Cordova, California. This employee-owner role supports traditional and alternative delivery methods in a hybrid work environment.

Project Details

Projects include advanced treatment facilities, water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades and expansions, underground conveyance, and carbon-neutral infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineers and technicians through complex project deliverables.
• Manage engineering budgets, schedules, quality requirements, and coordination across disciplines.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical deliverables, and equipment or material recommendations.
• Coordinate client communication, address project concerns, and support change management and business development.
• Review engineering work, mentor staff, and provide performance management for assigned personnel.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least five years of related professional experience.
• Engineering consulting experience and experience delivering multidisciplinary water and wastewater treatment projects are preferred.
• Professional Engineer licensure is preferred, with professional registration or active pursuit of registration generally expected.

Compensation and Benefits

The California annual compensation range is $126,423-$249,522.
