Project Manager (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

Job Summary

Barton Malow is seeking a Project Manager to lead delivery of a battery energy storage system project in Newport, Michigan. The role directs project execution with clients, field leadership, trade partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Project Details

This is an industrial energy project requiring full-time presence at the project site and openness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and establish objectives, responsibilities, and delivery expectations.
• Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, procurement, logistics, quality, safety, and risk plans.
• Oversee bidding support, subcontractor and vendor contracts, change management, claims, and commercial issues.
• Maintain cost reporting, forecasts, project controls, baseline schedules, procurement plans, and performance reporting.
• Coordinate field execution with the Superintendent and align site work with logistics, schedule, and contract requirements.
• Manage client, design team, subcontractor, vendor, and authority relationships; lead project meetings and track commitments.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation or recovery strategies.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant industrial construction and energy experience managing complex projects.
• Experience with construction contracts, project delivery methods, budgets, forecasting, schedules, procurement, change management, and project controls.
• Strong negotiation, decision-making, leadership, organization, communication, and risk-management skills.
