Project Manager Industrial Manufacturing

Job Summary

Black & Veatch, a 100% employee-owned engineering and construction firm, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support its growing Industrial Manufacturing business unit in Overland Park, Kansas. The role covers end-to-end delivery of medium to large EPC and design-build projects in manufacturing, ag/bio-process, semiconductor, and food & beverage sectors.

Project Details

Projects span detailed design through construction administration across the industrial manufacturing market, with emphasis on semiconductor and food & beverage clients. The PM manages multi-discipline engineering teams and coordinates engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities, including third-party contributors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of medium to large EPC and design-build projects, accountable for safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan, staffing plan, and change management program.
• Own project financial forecasting, client invoicing, and overall project profitability.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders; identify opportunities for expanded scope and repeat work.
• Collaborate on pursuit activities including proposal strategy, execution planning, risk identification, and commercial assumptions.
• Prepare and present monthly project reviews to management.
• Mentor junior project managers and team members, sharing lessons learned and execution strategies.
• Negotiate with multiple levels of client executive management.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing; semiconductor or food & beverage background strongly preferred.
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing project budgets, costs, and change management.
• Ability to develop and maintain detailed project schedules using P6 or MS Project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven client-facing ability.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Compensation and Benefits

$146,530–$323,830/year plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
