Project Manager - Underground Transmission

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead underground transmission line projects and support complex electric-grid initiatives from its Burlington, Massachusetts location.

Project Details

The role focuses on high-voltage underground, overhead, and other transmission work, with potential involvement in substations, distribution systems, private networks, and battery energy storage projects. The position includes approximately 25% travel to project sites and may combine corporate, hybrid, and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Direct project teams through design, procurement, and execution activities.
• Control project scope, schedule, budget, and delivery for services or EPC work.
• Prepare proposals and respond to requests for proposals.
• Coordinate clients, subcontractors, external stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Promote a strong project safety culture.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; an engineering or related degree is preferred.
• Seven or more years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
• Experience with overhead or underground transmission projects and multiple project-execution phases is preferred.
• Professional Engineer, P.Eng, or equivalent licensure is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
