Job Summary
Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead water and wastewater projects for its Governments & Communities business in Kansas City. This is a full-time, staff role with relocation assistance available.
Project Details
The team supports water infrastructure modernization for regulated utilities and government agencies, ranking in the ENR top 10 for Water Design Firms. Recent work includes projects like the Tomahawk Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of engineering, procurement, and construction projects including cost, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Lead business development efforts including proposal preparation, client presentations, and contract negotiation.
- Coordinate multi-discipline project teams and third-party contributors.
- Oversee engineering managers and drive project performance goals.
- Handle commercial management including budgeting, invoicing, and payment tracking.
- Mentor and develop project staff and identify candidates to grow the team.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the Kansas City market preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Strong understanding of project budgets, financial metrics, and contract terms.
