Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects as part of its Atlanta-based business leadership team.

Project Details

The role supports municipal and government infrastructure programs, including water and wastewater treatment, water mains, pump stations, conveyance systems, water facilities, and master planning. Projects are valued in the multi-million-dollar range and may involve hybrid work after the first 90 days, subject to business needs and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development activities, including market strategy, client engagement, proposals, presentations, budgeting, and contracting.
• Manage client relationships and contribute to market and account planning.
• Oversee engineering managers, project teams, performance goals, budgets, invoicing, payments, and project reviews.
• Coordinate with owners and internal teams to support successful project execution.
• Mentor staff and support training, promotion, recruitment, and team development.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of civil engineering design experience involving water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Experience with conceptual planning, preliminary and final design, treatment facilities, water mains, pump stations, conveyance, and master planning.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Experience with BIM-developed projects and knowledge of applicable engineering standards and design principles preferred.
• Ability to complete applicable pre-employment screening and travel to client sites.
