Project Safety Manager

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Safety Manager in Denver to provide safety leadership, oversight, training, compliance support, and incident investigation for assigned construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Help develop project safety plans and participate in preconstruction and pre-task planning.
• Monitor safety performance, inspections, corrective actions, regulatory compliance, and incident investigations.
• Lead safety training, facilitate safety committees, and coordinate safety activities with the Project Manager.
• Maintain site documentation, including hot work, GFCI, confined space, and excavation permits.
• Perform industrial hygiene assessments such as noise and air monitoring.
• Support enforcement of safety requirements and uphold employees' authority to stop unsafe work.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications are strongly preferred.
• Strong judgment, communication, organization, coaching, conflict resolution, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn job-specific software.
