Project Safety Manager - Data Center Construction

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Safety Manager to support safety execution on data center construction projects in Houston. This role will guide project teams, reinforce safety standards, and promote a proactive site safety culture.

Project Details

The position supports data center construction, including project planning, field inspections, regulatory compliance, permitting, training, and industrial hygiene activities.

Responsibilities

• Help develop project safety plans and participate in preconstruction and pre-task planning.
• Monitor safety performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Verify compliance with company safety processes and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate safety committees, inspections, training, audits, and incident investigation reviews.
• Maintain documentation for hot work, GFCI, confined space, excavation, and other site safety activities.
• Conduct industrial hygiene assessments such as noise and air monitoring.
• Coordinate safety matters with the Project Manager and support stop-work authority for unsafe conditions.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, communication, organization, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
