Project Safety Manager - Industrial Construction (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead safety operations for an industrial construction project. This traveling role begins with an assignment in Beaumont, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support project safety plans, preconstruction meetings, and pre-task planning.
• Monitor safety performance, conduct inspections and audits, and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver project-wide safety training and support regulatory compliance, including OSHA inspections.
• Coordinate safety committees and communicate safety activities with the Project Manager and project team.
• Review incident investigations, maintain permits and site documentation, and perform industrial hygiene assessments.
• Promote stop-work authority and strengthen safety awareness across the project.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
• Strong judgment, communication, organization, conflict-resolution, coaching, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
