Project Superintendent

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field operations and establish a strong safety culture in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role partners with the Project Manager to deliver projects successfully while maintaining productive relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Project Details

The position supports commercial construction projects, with relevant experience in resort, education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, and senior living work.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractors and field forces on the jobsite.
• Maintain project safety in accordance with company policy.
• Develop, update, and communicate project schedules, including two-week look-ahead plans.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and assist with major subcontractor selection and buyout.
• Communicate with owners, designers, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Track project costs and ensure required documentation is accurate and timely.
• Support team development and maintain positive internal and external relationships.

Required Experience

• Five to ten years of project superintendent experience.
• Commercial general contractor experience.
• Experience with resort, education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, or senior living construction.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and understand construction methods and materials.
• Strong leadership, organization, communication, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn job-specific software.
