Safety & Health Manager - Water/Wastewater - TX

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a field-based Safety & Health Manager for a project in Turkey, Texas. This mid-level construction safety position will maintain project safety procedures and may supervise other safety professionals.

Project Details

The role supports a water and wastewater construction project in a field-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer project safety, health, substance abuse, security, and workers' compensation programs.
• Deliver safety training, perform site inspections, and complete required records and program documentation.
• Investigate incidents and prepare injury and illness reports.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, government officials, and internal or external safety stakeholders.
• Supervise, train, and develop safety interns and safety specialists.
• Support first aid or medical functions and continuous improvement initiatives when required.

Required Experience

• At least five years of safety and health experience.
• Three or more years in a construction environment preferred.
• Safety and health certification or a bachelor's degree preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is also preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards, substance abuse and workers' compensation procedures, contract administration, incident reporting, and safety consultation.
• Certifications listed include First Aid/CPR, drug testing, OSHA 500, OSHA 501, Safety and Health Program Administration, and OSHA 10.
• Must be able to complete applicable background, drug screening, and motor vehicle record checks.
