Job Summary
Black & Veatch is seeking a mid-level Safety and Health Specialist to support a combined-cycle power construction project in Newnan, Georgia. The position maintains project safety procedures and may supervise other safety professionals.
Project Details
The role supports construction of a combined-cycle power facility in a field-based industrial project environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer project safety, substance abuse, workers' compensation, security, and recordkeeping programs.
- Deliver employee training and perform detailed site inspections.
- Investigate incidents and injuries, prepare reports, and complete required safety documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, government officials, and medical or first-aid providers.
- Analyze safety and industrial hygiene data and recommend administrative, emergency, and PPE controls.
- Provide supervision, development, and performance management for assigned personnel.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of construction experience and 4 years of safety and health experience.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards, substance abuse procedures, workers' compensation, and safety program administration.
- Preferred credentials include a high school diploma or equivalent, safety and health certification, and a bachelor's degree.
- Certifications listed include First Aid, CPR, drug testing certification, OSHA 500/501, Safety and Health Program Administration, and OSHA 10-hour training.
- Must be able to complete applicable background, drug screening, and motor vehicle record checks.

Work Environment
