Safety & Health Trainer Advanced Power Cycles

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a mid-level Safety and Health Trainer to support construction projects for its Advanced Power Cycles team. This employee-owner position delivers safety training and helps maintain site safety procedures across traveling assignments.

Project Details

The role supports power construction work at project locations throughout the United States and may involve typical construction-site conditions, hazardous equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, and changing weather.

Responsibilities

• Deliver employee safety and health training and conduct site inspections.
• Perform drug and alcohol screening activities under company policy.
• Investigate incidents and injuries, prepare reports, and complete required safety documentation.
• Support site security, recordkeeping, workers' compensation coordination, and first-aid response.
• Provide work direction to assigned safety personnel and direct Safety Interns and Safety and Health Specialist 1 staff.

Required Experience

• At least two years of safety and health experience.
• Two or more years in a construction environment preferred.
• Knowledge of safety standards, substance-abuse procedures, workers' compensation practices, and first-aid functions.
• Ability to prepare detailed reports and use word-processing and spreadsheet software.
• Bilingual ability, a safety or health certification, and a bachelor's degree are preferred.
• Must be able to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks.
• Certifications include First Aid/CPR, drug-testing certification, Safety and Health Program Administration, and OSHA 10.
