Safety Manager (Mission Critical)

Job Summary

Barton Malow is hiring a Safety Manager to lead field safety on mission critical construction projects, primarily data centers. This role demands extensive travel to project sites and prior data center construction experience.

Work is focused on mission critical facilities — primarily data centers — with preferred experience in industrial, automotive, or energy construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and exceed project safety standards in alignment with customer and Barton Malow requirements.
• Conduct safety orientations, Toolbox Talks, safety meetings, and all related educational programs for employees and subcontractors.
• Identify and help control hazardous conditions and unsafe activities through coordination with site personnel and subs.
• Support pre-job planning, audit safety processes, and deliver actionable feedback.
• Lead incident investigations and submit reports to safety leadership; participate in incident reviews with project and senior leadership.
• Maintain complete documentation of the project safety program, including accidents, violations, and unsafe conditions.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, or an active CHST, ASP, or CSP credential, or 10+ years of construction safety experience.
• Prior data center project experience is required.
• OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications required.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required.
• NFPA 70E Qualified Person Training and Arc Flash Awareness training required.
• LOTO competency required for applicable scopes of work.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods for project assignments.
