Safety Specialist

Job Summary

Garney is seeking a Safety Specialist in Tracy, California, to support field safety programs, strengthen jobsite safety culture, and help prevent incidents through training, inspections, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct jobsite inspections and audits, identify hazards, and monitor corrective actions.
• Help prepare safe work plans, task hazard analyses, and site-specific procedures.
• Provide toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training for field personnel.
• Advise employees and project leaders on safety practices and OSHA compliance.
• Maintain safety records, reports, and related documentation.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
• At least 2 years of construction experience and 1 year in a safety position; 3 or more years is preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and construction safety practices.
• Required credentials include OSHA 30, OSHA 500, EM385, CHST, or equivalent, CPR/First Aid Trainer, and OSHA 510 within six months.
• Bilingual English and Spanish ability is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is $85,000-$110,000 per year.
