Senior Construction Manager - Water/Wastewater - Virginia Beach

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to oversee owner-side delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Virginia Beach. The role combines field leadership, construction administration, stakeholder coordination, staff management, and client support.

Project Details

Assignments may include water transmission pipelines, pump stations, wastewater collection systems, treatment facilities, and related utility infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction-phase services, including schedule and submittal reviews, RFIs, correspondence, change requests, pay applications, and progress reporting.
• Coordinate owners, contractors, engineers of record, subconsultants, utility representatives, and design teams.
• Lead progress and preconstruction meetings and communicate project findings to clients.
• Manage field and office staffing, delegate work, forecast resource needs, and oversee subconsultant costs and invoices.
• Support project budgets, fee proposals, dispute documentation, and delivery on schedule and within budget.

Required Experience

• At least 18 years of construction supervisory experience, including five or more years as a construction manager.
• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant field experience.
• 18 or more years of water/wastewater project experience involving pump stations and pipelines preferred.
• OSHA training required or preferred, depending on the qualification path.
• Experience with Excel, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Procore is preferred; a professional engineering license is also preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $170,000-$185,000 annually.
