Senior Electrical Engineer Substation

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in substations to provide advanced technical leadership, engineering oversight, and project coordination. This full-time role may supervise engineering staff and support complex infrastructure projects.

Project Details

The position focuses on substation engineering and related electrical infrastructure work, supporting projects with complex technical, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex engineering deliverables, calculations, equipment recommendations, and technical solutions.
• Guide application of engineering standards, codes, design procedures, and quality processes.
• Coordinate engineering activities across disciplines and with internal and external project partners.
• Establish work plans and help manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and quality requirements.
• Review work produced by other engineers and mentor developing professionals.
• Support client needs, business development, and pursuit activities.
• Oversee team performance, career development, staffing, and related management processes.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent engineering experience.
• At least 11 years of related professional experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure supporting engineer-of-record requirements.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks during onboarding.
