Senior Electrical Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects from the Las Vegas area. The role combines technical leadership, client engagement, design support, and construction-phase services within an employee-owned engineering organization.

Project Details

Lead electrical design and delivery for municipal and industrial water and wastewater work, with potential assignments involving data centers, semiconductor facilities, mining, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, power, and oil and gas. Projects may use EPC, FEL/FEED, design-build, or services delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical solutions for existing facilities and new project requirements.
• Coordinate technical needs with electrical utilities, clients, local design teams, and remote engineering groups.
• Support construction inspections, resolve electrical field issues, and participate in equipment startup and testing.
• Lead project schedules, budgets, staffing, supplier submittal reviews, and technical coordination.
• Provide guidance on power distribution, plant electrical systems, client standards, and instrumentation and controls interfaces.
• Support client relationships and business development for expanded electrical services.
• Supervise staff and handle related personnel administration.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
• At least 11 years of related electrical design, planning, and construction-services experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure supporting engineer-of-record requirements.
• Professional Engineer licensure in Nevada or another U.S. jurisdiction is preferred.
• Experience with medium- and low-voltage distribution equipment, variable frequency drives, and standby diesel generators is preferred.
• Water and wastewater consulting experience, client-facing work, and business development experience are preferred.
• Experience with SKM, ETAP, or comparable power system analysis software is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is full-time and relocation eligible, with flexible or hybrid work options potentially available after the first 90 days.
