Senior MEP Engineer - Commercial Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Senior MEP Engineer to manage increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities for commercial projects. The role supports estimating, preconstruction, scheduling, quality control, commissioning, subcontractor coordination, client relationships, and business development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical and electrical estimates, scopes of work, system analyses, bid evaluations, and value engineering recommendations.
• Coordinate system sequencing, scheduling input, constructability reviews, quality programs, inspections, and subcontractor work.
• Review and approve shop drawings, manage equipment purchasing, and negotiate subcontracts.
• Develop commissioning plans, checklists, and functional testing procedures; verify corrections and submit project documentation.
• Mentor less experienced team members, support resource allocation, and contribute to interviews, presentations, and business development.
• Promote safety, quality, diversity, inclusion, and continuous process improvement.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 10 or more years of construction management experience preferred.
• Advanced communication, presentation, Microsoft Office, construction technology, Lean, budgeting, and profitability skills.
• Working knowledge of plans, specifications, scheduling software, BIM, construction M/E tools, ASE, and Lens.
• Ability to prepare project budgets, GMPs or hard bids, range estimates, and complete projects from start to finish.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
