Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Austin to manage a small project or assigned portion of a complex project with guidance from project leadership. The role supports project administration, field execution, safety, quality, and team coordination, with a career path toward Project Manager 1.

Responsibilities

  • Support estimating, quantity takeoffs, change management, subcontractor selection, procurement, and vendor coordination.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, submittal logs, procurement records, progress reports, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate inspections, quality reviews, safety activities, project meetings, and owner-architect-contractor meetings.
  • Monitor field production, manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractor performance, project risks, and productivity.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor pay applications and support project administration in CMiC and related systems.
  • Lead assigned closeout activities, including punch lists, inspections, as-built documentation, and operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Apply Lean practices, construction best practices, and self-perform opportunities while mentoring other team members.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least 3 years of construction experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management and accounting software, and construction technology.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, project controls, Lean processes, self-perform work, labor productivity, and trade scopes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, and team leadership skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in project-site and office environments, including non-traditional hours as needed.
