Senior Project Engineer (Heavy Civil Construction)

Job Summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to coordinate and manage on-site engineering work for heavy civil construction projects, supporting quality, cost control, and successful delivery.

Project Details

The role supports heavy civil construction projects of varying sizes in the Santa Barbara area.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project controls, budgets, schedules, forecasts, and job costs.
• Coordinate engineering assignments and maintain project schedules and records.
• Provide technical support for construction planning, quality, design interpretation, constructability, and resolving design conflicts.
• Develop project engineering procedures and represent the project in client and management meetings.
• Guide and mentor project staff while supporting company safety initiatives.

Required Experience

• At least four years of construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent technical training and experience may be considered.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AGTEK Take-off, and Primavera Scheduling.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range of $101,370-$152,054. Benefits include paid leave, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending options, wellness programs, and a 401(k) match for eligible salaried employees.
