Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Houston to lead complex energy and process-industry projects from early development through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and closeout. This employee-owner role carries accountability for safe delivery, schedule, budget, risk, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Project Details

The portfolio includes natural gas compression and processing facilities, pipelines, pump stations, metering and terminal infrastructure, petrochemical and process facilities, CCUS developments, and brownfield expansion work. Projects may use FEED, detail design, EPC, or EPCI delivery models and involve domestic and international teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and startup teams.
  • Establish execution plans, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, milestones, and performance measures.
  • Act as the principal contact for clients, partners, contractors, suppliers, and internal leadership.
  • Manage project risks, interfaces, changes, contracts, forecasts, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Oversee design, constructability, field execution, vendor coordination, startup readiness, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support proposals, estimates, pursuits, contract negotiations, claims resolution, and development of project talent.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 15 years of project management, engineering, construction, or project delivery experience in the energy industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading large multidisciplinary teams, complex capital projects, global project teams, and client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost management, risk management, procurement, and construction execution.
  • PE license and PMP certification are preferred.
  • Experience with FEED, EPC, or EPCI projects exceeding $100 million and international contractor coordination is preferred.
