Job Summary
JE Dunn is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex life sciences and bio-pharmaceutical construction projects in Houston. This role owns project execution, administration, financial performance, client coordination, and team leadership from preconstruction through closeout.
Project Details
The position supports significantly complex construction projects in the life sciences and bio-pharmaceutical sector, including preconstruction, estimating, procurement, scheduling, construction administration, and project closeout.
Responsibilities
- Direct project operations, safety performance, administration, budgets, forecasts, profitability, and closeout activities.
- Lead preconstruction efforts including estimating, quantity takeoffs, scope development, bid packages, bid analysis, and subcontract awards.
- Manage buyout, submittals, procurement, subcontractor risk, change requests, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal resources.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, identify impacts, and lead mitigation planning using Lean practices where appropriate.
- Lead project meetings, reporting, cost reviews, risk management, and client-facing communications.
- Build and mentor project teams while promoting safety, diversity, inclusion, and strong external relationships.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- At least 10 years of construction management experience.
- Advanced verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of construction means and methods, project accounting, budgets, GMP or hard bids, range estimates, scheduling, BIM, Lean processes, and construction technology.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, CMiC or similar project management and accounting software, scheduling software, and BIM.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
- Ability to work on project sites and in offices, lift up to 25 pounds, and work non-traditional hours when project needs require.
