Senior Project Manager (Sports and Entertainment Market) - Kalamazoo, MI

Job Summary

Barton Malow is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery of a major sports and entertainment construction project in the Kalamazoo area. This role guides project teams from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining performance across safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

Project Details

The position supports a complex commercial sports and entertainment project near Kalamazoo, Michigan, working with owners, architects, engineers, trade partners, field leadership, and code officials.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement strategy, bidder outreach, scope development, bid reviews, subcontracting, and preconstruction coordination.
• Develop project schedules, logistics plans, staffing forecasts, cash-flow projections, and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate site safety, emergency procedures, punch list completion, owner equipment, labor relations, and mechanical/electrical or BIM coordination.
• Manage general conditions, trade budgets, cost reporting, changes, cash management, profitability, and payment processes.
• Direct project meetings, RFI and submittal workflows, documentation, closeout, agency acceptance, and architect/engineer communications.
• Support business development through repeat-client opportunities, proposals, and project presentations.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of general contractor or construction management experience.
• Experience with Procore is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must live in Kalamazoo or be willing to relocate.
