Senior Project Superintendent - Aviation Construction (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent to lead complex commercial and aviation construction projects as part of its traveling Aviation group. This role directs field operations and partners with the project manager to deliver safe, profitable results.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractors, field crews, and daily construction operations.
• Manage safety, quality, schedules, budgets, cost reporting, and project documentation.
• Develop project schedules, resource plans, and two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Inspect work, resolve field issues, and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contracts, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with owners, designers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Assist with major subcontractor buyout and selection.
• Mentor field personnel and support team development.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of Project Superintendent experience.
• Commercial construction experience with a general contractor.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring teams.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Strong organization, leadership, communication, relationship-building, and business skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
