Senior Project Superintendent – Commercial Construction

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent to lead commercial construction field operations in West Palm Beach. This position partners with the Project Manager to deliver safe, organized, timely, and profitable projects while building strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and suppliers.

Project Details

The role supports commercial general contracting work, including education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resort, and senior living projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractors, field personnel, and daily site operations.
• Manage safety, quality, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and construction processes.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules and lead pull-planning sessions with trade partners.
• Apply lean construction practices and resolve field issues to maintain project progress.
• Inspect work, coordinate subcontractor performance, and enforce contract and safety requirements.
• Support major subcontractor buyout and selection activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, owners, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Complete project documentation and cost reporting accurately and on time.
• Mentor and develop team members while maintaining productive professional relationships.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of Project Superintendent experience.
• Commercial construction experience with a general contractor.
• Background in education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resort, or senior living construction.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and apply construction methods and materials knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Bluebeam and Procore experience is a plus.
