Senior Project Superintendent - Power Generation (Traveling)

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent to lead field operations for complex power generation and industrial construction projects. This traveling role oversees jobsite safety, execution, schedule, budget, staff, and project relationships.

Project Details

The position supports power generation and other industrial projects nationwide. Candidates must be willing to travel nationally or relocate according to project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction activities in accordance with plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
• Lead subcontractors and field personnel while establishing the project safety culture.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on schedule, budget, staffing, and project performance.
• Maintain project schedules and prepare two-week look-ahead plans using scheduling software.
• Support major subcontractor selection and buyout activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve timelines, manage scope, and enhance quality.
• Maintain accurate submittals, daily reports, closeout records, and other project documentation.
• Review and enforce contract requirements and obligations.

Required Experience

• At least eight years of extensive field and project construction management experience.
• Previous power generation experience is required; industrial construction experience is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma required; a related college degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, teach, develop, and mentor project teams.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and apply construction methods and materials knowledge.
• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Apple devices; Procore, JDE, and Asta experience is preferred.
