Superintendent 2 - Commercial Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Superintendent 2 in Nashville to lead moderately complex commercial construction projects from planning through closeout. The role oversees field operations, project coordination, safety, quality, scheduling, and production while supporting the company’s operational and inclusion-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractors, suppliers, company personnel, site logistics, and daily workflow.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, reports, project records, and field documentation.
• Lead safety, quality, trade, progress, and owner-architect-contractor meetings.
• Manage materials, equipment, self-perform activities, timecards, cost tracking, and procurement coordination.
• Identify project risks, resolve field issues, support change negotiations, and coordinate project closeout.
• Promote an injury-free workplace, investigate incidents, and mentor project staff.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least five years of construction experience and three years of field supervision experience.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project accounting, construction technology, Lean practices, trade scopes, layout, and rigging.
• Intermediate communication, presentation, MS Office, project management software, accounting software, and scheduling software skills.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours when project demands require.
