Superintendent

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Superintendent in Austin to oversee field execution, site operations, subcontractor coordination, safety, quality, scheduling, and project documentation. The role supports successful project delivery while developing toward Superintendent 2.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractors, suppliers, company staff, workflow, and site logistics.
• Promote the company’s safety culture, investigate incidents, and support corrective training.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, reports, cost tracking, and project records.
• Lead daily, trade, owner-architect-contractor, progress, and project review meetings.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, staffing, procurement, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
• Monitor quality requirements, manage project changes, and support closeout activities.
• Collaborate with project management, owners, designers, authorities, vendors, and field leadership.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction experience, including 1 or more years in field supervision.
• High school diploma or GED required; a related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, project controls, documentation, layout, rigging, and self-perform operations.
• Intermediate communication, presentation, Microsoft Office, construction technology, scheduling software, and project management or accounting software skills.
• Ability to work accurately, collaborate across teams, manage budgets, and apply Lean practices.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time professional non-union position with an employer benefits package. The role may involve travel or relocation, non-traditional work hours, and work in varying weather conditions.
