Job Summary
JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Traveling General Superintendent for its Advanced Facilities Group, overseeing mega projects in data centers, semiconductor fabs, and industrial/manufacturing facilities at locations across the United States. This is a full-time, 100% travel role requiring on-site presence for the duration of each assignment.
Project Details
Projects are large-scale, high-complexity builds in the data center, semiconductor, and industrial/manufacturing sectors — among the most technically advanced construction work in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations and construction sequencing across the full project lifecycle for mega-scale projects.
- Manage and oversee company staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, including Safety, Quality, and EEO programs.
- Create, manage, and adjust project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Champion the company safety culture and lead incident investigations and retraining as needed.
- Lead daily standups, weekly trade meetings, and participate in OAC and project review meetings.
- Monitor project budget and costs using project management systems and cost reports.
- Coordinate material and equipment procurement and manage self-perform work plans.
- Support project closeout through pre-punch supervision and coordination with owners, architects, and authorities.
- Provide strategic input and leadership across multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Participate in subcontractor buyout meetings, change negotiation, and project pre-planning.
Required Experience
- 12+ years of construction experience, including 10+ years in field supervision.
- Proven ability to lead the largest, most complex construction projects from planning through completion.
- Experience with Lean principles on construction projects preferred.
- Background on large, high-tech projects (data centers, semiconductor, industrial/manufacturing) strongly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of specific trades, self-perform work, labor productivity, and crane/rigging operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management and accounting software, and scheduling software.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
