Traveling Project Manager- Aviation

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Project Manager 2 to lead moderately complex aviation construction projects through preconstruction, execution, financial management, and closeout. This traveling role reports to the company’s National Aviation Vertical and requires extensive domestic travel.

Project Details

The position supports aviation construction assignments across the United States, with work based at project sites and offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct project operations, administration, safety, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
• Support estimating, quantity takeoffs, bid packages, buyout, scope review, and subcontract awards.
• Manage submittals, change requests, pay applications, project meetings, reporting, and owner or architect communications.
• Track budgets, forecasts, margins, risks, materials, labor, and procurement to support project profitability.
• Coordinate with superintendents and project stakeholders to identify schedule impacts and implement mitigation plans.
• Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists, warranties, financials, and subcontract completion.
• Promote an injury-free work environment, investigate incidents, and reinforce safety expectations.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 7 years of construction management experience.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, project processes, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
• Advanced proficiency with project management, accounting, scheduling, and construction technology software; intermediate MS Office and Lean process skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license and willingness to travel, relocate when needed, and work non-traditional hours.
