Traveling Superintendent 2 - Commercial Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Traveling Superintendent 2 to oversee commercial construction assignments, coordinate field operations, and help deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position is based in Nashville for hiring purposes but requires full-time travel to changing project locations nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, company staff, site logistics, and daily construction workflow.
• Lead safety, quality, trade, progress, and project coordination meetings.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, reports, logs, drawings, and project documentation.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, procurement, self-perform activities, timecards, and cost tracking.
• Monitor project risks, quality requirements, schedule changes, budgets, and closeout activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, owners, architects, design teams, authorities, and field leadership.
• Support project pursuits, staffing, buyout, change negotiations, reviews, and preconstruction planning.
• Promote an injury-free workplace, investigate incidents, and reinforce safe work practices.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of construction experience, including 3 years of field supervision.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management systems, accounting software, construction technology, Lean practices, trade scopes, layout, and rigging.
• Intermediate communication, presentation, collaboration, budgeting, productivity, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as project conditions require.
