Abilene Project Manager

Job Summary

PCL Buildings Inc. is seeking a Project Manager in Abilene to support its growing national data center business unit. The role leads large or complex construction projects from contract administration through closeout while guiding project teams and maintaining strong safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.

Project Details

This position supports PCL’s national data center construction program and may involve design-build project delivery, including design coordination, constructability reviews, quality audits, commissioning, and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Manage contract administration, project execution, budgets, forecasts, schedules, resources, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead implementation of the project safety plan and promote a strong site safety culture.
• Oversee construction to meet design, quality, budget, resource, and schedule requirements.
• Negotiate subcontracts and major purchase orders, issue progress payments, and monitor trade and supplier performance.
• Coordinate commissioning and project closeout activities.
• Lead, coach, train, and mentor direct and indirect project team members.
• For design-build work, coordinate design progress, deliverables, constructability, quality, stakeholder communication, and compliance.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of progressive construction experience, with project leadership and mentoring capability.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, building codes, construction law, safety, and quality management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, resources, risks, and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience leading construction teams, project facets, and trade performance.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management tools, scheduling software, and emerging construction technology.
