Abilene Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Buildings Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Abilene to support its expanding national data center business unit. The role contributes to project controls, subcontract administration, design coordination, quality, and commissioning activities.

Project Details

The position supports data center construction projects for PCL’s national business unit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs, surveys, progress reporting, and change management documentation.
• Administer subcontracted scopes, including defining work requirements, responding to inquiries, and tracking progress.
• Review project obligations, support project startup, and coordinate subcontractor submittals with design documentation and other disciplines.
• Assist with design-team site inspections and participate in systems commissioning sign-offs.
• Identify potential risks and help address construction issues, schedules, and contract requirements.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred 4–6 years of operational construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, materials, standards, HSE, and quality requirements.
• Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles, develop comprehensive schedules, and administer subcontracts and contract documents.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, multitasking, and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to learn operational technology.
