Abilene Superintendent

Job Summary

PCL Buildings Inc. is seeking a Superintendent in Abilene to support its growing national data center business. The role leads field operations, project teams, trade partners, and site execution for complex construction work.

Project Details

The position supports PCL’s national data center business unit and is based in Abilene, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Implement site safety plans and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and record-keeping requirements.
• Supervise, coach, train, and mentor project personnel, including direct and indirect reports.
• Coordinate trade contractors, own forces, field engineers, estimators, subcontractors, clients, and other site stakeholders.
• Build and maintain project schedules, critical-path plans, Project Execution Plans, and resource-loaded three-week lookaheads.
• Manage project scope, quality, budget, documentation, contract requirements, risks, and schedule conflicts.
• Lead site meetings, resolve conflicts, address constructability issues, and maintain customer-focused relationships.

Required Experience

• Journeyman certificate or undergraduate degree in an engineering or related discipline.
• NCSO designation required; enrollment in the Gold Seal program preferred.
• Five years of progressive field supervision experience preferred, with demonstrated construction workforce supervision.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, methods, safety practices, scheduling, productivity, cost reports, takeoffs, and contract language.
• Ability to coordinate multiple work scopes, interpret schedules and cost reports, lead meetings, solve problems, and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems.
