AI Program Manager Power Delivery & Grid

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an AI Program Manager for its Power Delivery & Grid practice, based in Overland Park, Kansas. This hybrid leadership role splits time roughly equally between strategic AI solution growth and hands-on project/program management for transmission and substation EPC work.

Project Details

The role sits within Black & Veatch's Technology & Infrastructure Group, supporting a distributed infrastructure portfolio that includes overhead transmission lines, substations, battery energy storage systems, distribution networks, and communications infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment of AI-enabled design and execution tools across the Distributed Infrastructure portfolio.
• Partner with engineering, digital, and operations teams to integrate AI tools into standard workflows.
• Develop and refine the roadmap for AI-enabled grid infrastructure solutions.
• Support business development by embedding AI value propositions into transmission and substation pursuits.
• Manage select transmission line EPC and services projects from execution through commercial closeout.
• Own project financial performance including cost control, earned value, and margin protection.
• Coordinate across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction to resolve project issues and manage risk.
• Contribute to thought leadership through white papers, conference presentations, and client discussions.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience preferred, including high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage substations.
• Experience across multiple phases of project execution on power delivery or infrastructure projects.
• PE, P.Eng, or equivalent professional license preferred.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
