Job Summary

JE Dunn's Aptitude group is seeking an Aptitude Superintendent 2 in Tampa to manage moderately complex intelligent integration and low-voltage technology projects from planning through closeout.

Project Details

The role supports low-voltage systems and intelligent building technology, including structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, audiovisual, building automation, nurse call, infant security, RTLS, phone systems, and network electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project safety, quality, production, scheduling, cost tracking, and risk management.
  • Coordinate clients, design teams, trade partners, suppliers, governing authorities, and internal project staff.
  • Develop subcontractor work plans and manage assigned low-voltage scopes, materials, equipment, and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate conduit, pathways, back boxes, cabling, device installation, testing, troubleshooting, and system commissioning.
  • Maintain project documentation, daily reports, schedules, logs, drawings, inspections, and closeout activities.
  • Support project pursuits, change negotiations, review meetings, workforce planning, and project closeout.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of construction experience and 5 years working with Division 8, 23, 25, 27, or 28 systems.
  • At least 3 years of field supervision experience; project management experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage systems, construction management methods, project documentation, MS Office, and relevant construction technology.
  • Ability to configure project software for testing and troubleshooting and collaborate across multiple market sectors.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather and physical conditions.
