Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery from estimating through client acceptance while coaching and coordinating project team members.

Project Details

Mortenson delivers projects across sports, renewable energy, data centers, healthcare, and other construction markets. This role may support complex projects with travel of up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Support cost control, estimating, scheduling, scope coordination, pay applications, change requests, and other financial documentation.
• Assist with proposals, contract administration, subcontract awards, project buyout, and trade partner coordination.
• Guide project engineers and field engineers, assign work, provide mentoring, and support team development.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, budgets, coordination meetings, quality planning, and safe project completion.
• Perform project management duties on smaller-scope projects as assigned.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of related experience and demonstrated ability to support complex projects.
• Current driver’s license and intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and web application skills.
• Working knowledge of construction law, business practices, communication, customer service, and inclusive workplace practices.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $102,000-$137,700, with higher ranges in specified markets, plus eligibility for an incentive plan. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, employer-paid insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and wellness discounts.
