Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for commercial construction operations in the Bay Area. This role supports project delivery while developing cost, schedule, team leadership, and communication responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support project accounting, CPM scheduling, subcontracts, purchase orders, and staff responsibility planning.
• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with project administration, field staff support, training, and team leadership.
• Review change requests, change orders, owner payment applications, and potential claims.
• Track job costs, prepare quantity and labor reports, and support project profitability reviews.
• Lead quality management activities, project closeout, and applicable safety and equal employment programs.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of construction experience on relevant projects.
• Advanced knowledge of construction practices and experience managing field staff and owner relationships.
• Demonstrated jobsite safety performance, strong teamwork, and willingness to relocate within the region.

Compensation and Benefits

The Bay Area salary range is $110,000-$135,000 annually, with potential bonus and additional benefits that may affect total compensation.
