Assistant Project Manager - Automation

Job Summary

Interstates is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support automation projects and develop toward project management leadership. The role offers training and coaching for candidates with a strong attitude and interest in serving clients and project teams.

Project Details

Support electrical construction, engineering, instrumentation, and automation work for industrial facility clients. The position may be based in Sioux Center, Iowa; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; or Omaha, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and jobsite leadership with project management and field coordination.
• Maintain project control systems, CPM schedules, crew planning, RFIs, submittals, meeting records, and communications.
• Analyze project controls information, help resolve issues, and evaluate alternate delivery methods.
• Prepare estimating takeoffs and change-order analysis.
• Participate in client meetings, trade-contractor coordination, and monthly project reviews.
• Assist with procurement and material and subcontract expediting.
• Promote the company's safety culture throughout project activities.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction engineering, business administration, engineering technology, or construction management.
• Ability to organize projects, prioritize work, and adapt project systems to support successful delivery.
• Strong team-building, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort communicating with clients, peers, and managers.

Compensation and Benefits
