Assistant Project Manager - Automation

Job Summary

Interstates is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support its Automation group and develop toward project management leadership. The role offers training and advancement while coordinating project controls, communication, procurement, and client support.

Project Details

Projects involve electrical construction, engineering, instrumentation, automation, and operational technology work supporting industrial facilities. The position may be based from offices in Sioux Center, Iowa; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; or Omaha, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and site leaders with field management and leadership activities.
• Build, update, and communicate CPM schedules and crew plans.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting records, and other project communications.
• Review project controls data, help resolve issues, and evaluate alternate execution approaches.
• Prepare estimating takeoffs and change-order analysis.
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with trade contractors, and contribute to monthly project reviews.
• Assist with material and subcontract procurement and expediting.
• Reinforce company safety practices throughout project activities.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction engineering, business administration, engineering technology, or construction management.
• Ability to organize project information, prioritize work, and adapt project systems as needed.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, teamwork, and client-facing communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $70,000-$80,000 per year, with end-of-fiscal-year bonus incentives and merit increases.
