Assistant Project Manager - Fort Dodge, IA

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support electrical construction, engineering, instrumentation, automation, and controls projects from a Fort Dodge, Iowa home base. The role is designed for an emerging project leader and includes training and career development toward project management.

Project Details

Work supports industrial facilities and customer projects involving electrical construction, controls, automation, instrumentation, and related engineering services. The position includes travel to customer sites up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and jobsite leadership with project management and field coordination.
• Maintain project control systems, CPM schedules, crew planning tools, RFIs, submittals, meeting records, and other project communications.
• Analyze project controls information, help resolve issues, and evaluate alternate methods for project success.
• Prepare estimating take-offs and change-order analysis.
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with trade contractors, and support monthly project reviews.
• Assist with material and subcontract procurement and expediting.
• Promote the company's safety culture throughout project activities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's or associate's degree in construction engineering, business administration, engineering technology, or construction management.
• Ability to organize and prioritize project work while adapting project systems as needed.
• Strong team-building, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Comfort communicating with clients, peers, and managers.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $68,000-$78,000 per year, with bonus incentives and merit increases.
