Assistant Project Manager - Fort Dodge, IA

Job Summary

Interstates is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Fort Dodge to support electrical construction, engineering, instrumentation, automation, and operational technology projects. The position is designed for an emerging project leader who will work alongside field crews, project managers, and clients with structured training and career development.

Project Details

Projects support industrial facilities and customer sites through electrical construction, controls, instrumentation, automation, and related technology work. Fort Dodge serves as the home base, with customer-site travel required periodically.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and jobsite leaders with project administration and field leadership.
• Maintain project control systems, critical-path schedules, and crew-planning tools.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting records, site communications, procurement, and subcontract expediting.
• Review project controls data, help resolve issues, and evaluate alternate approaches.
• Prepare estimating takeoffs, change-order analysis, and monthly project-review materials.
• Participate in client meetings and coordinate with trade contractors.
• Promote the company's safety culture throughout project activities.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction engineering, construction management, engineering technology, business administration, or a related field.
• Ability to organize project information, prioritize competing work, and adapt project systems as conditions change.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
• Comfort presenting and communicating with clients, coworkers, and managers.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is $68,000-$78,000 per year.
