Assistant Project Manager- Project Controls

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery from preconstruction through client acceptance, while guiding and developing project team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage project cost controls, financial records, estimates, schedules, scopes, contracts, and subcontractor buyout.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, lead project meetings, and support safe, timely, quality project completion.
• Prepare client proposals and financial documentation, including pay applications and change requests.
• Guide project engineers and field engineers, assign work, and coach team members.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of related experience and demonstrated ability to support complex projects.
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, project applications, and relevant web tools.
• Working knowledge of construction law and business practices, a current driver’s license, and ability to travel 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $102,000–$137,700, with higher ranges for specified office locations. The role may be eligible for an incentive plan. Benefits include medical, dental, retirement matching, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, and other support programs.
