Senior Superintendent I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Senior Superintendent I to oversee field operations and lead site teams on multiple projects or large, complex construction assignments.

Project Details

The role calls for experience with solar work or large industrial power projects and may involve oversight of multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction activities, assign work, and coordinate labor, equipment, materials, inspections, and schedules.
• Review plans for completeness and constructability, resolve discrepancies with engineers, and maintain project schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Plan site use and crew sizes, select formwork and equipment, and lead preconstruction sessions and site meetings.
• Supervise, coach, and develop field staff; support performance and hiring decisions and maintain a collaborative work environment.
• Apply the site safety program, manage site logistics, and maintain relationships with customers, designers, subcontractors, and union representatives.

Required Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• At least 15 years of construction experience, including 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with solar projects or large industrial power projects, and ability to manage multiple complex assignments.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, a current driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 100%.
• Working knowledge of construction law and standard business practices, with strong organization, professionalism, and customer service skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $144,300–$216,500, with higher ranges for specified office locations. The position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
