Assistant Superintendent - MEP

Job Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an Assistant Superintendent focused on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work for commercial construction projects in Arizona. This role supports field coordination and delivery of MEP scopes alongside the project leadership team.

Project Details

The position supports commercial projects with mechanical and electrical contract portions valued at $10 million or more, including MEP and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the MEP Superintendent and trade partners through project completion.
• Help develop CPM schedules, billing-related schedules of values, logistics plans, and temporary facility plans.
• Coordinate procurement, installation, startup, commissioning, and resolution of MEP conflicts.
• Review MEP materials, equipment, contract documents, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Track progress and communicate updates to project leadership and owners.

Required Experience

• At least two years of construction or MEP field supervision experience.
• Experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent on commercial projects.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems.
• Understanding of applicable building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes.
• Experience coordinating with MEP subcontractors and trade partners.
