Carpenter Foreman

Job Summary

Lead carpentry crews and perform journeyman-level rough and finish work on building construction and alteration projects.

Project Details

Work includes building construction and alterations, along with cabinets and specialty wood items.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and blueprints, estimate labor and material needs, and track production.
• Set crew schedules and assignments, record crew time, and maintain operational records and inventories.
• Guide carpentry work, coordinate with clients and contractors, and resolve jobsite issues.
• Prepare job hazard analyses, promote safe work practices, and coordinate crew safety and equipment training.
• Mentor employees, monitor performance, and maintain work areas and tools.

Required Experience

• At least two years of experience as a carpenter foreman or in a similar role.
• Current journeyman carpenter license or certificate if required by the applicable jurisdiction.
• Knowledge of rough and finish carpentry, tools and safety practices, and new and remodel construction methods.
• Basic computer skills and ability to meet the physical demands of the work, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working on ladders or lifts.
